Move-Out Cleaning Checklist for Renters and Sellers

Move-out cleaning is different from routine cleaning because the goal is to make an empty or nearly empty space ready for the next walkthrough, tenant, buyer, or owner.

Kitchen reset

Focus on counters, sinks, cabinet fronts, appliance fronts, floors, and trash removal. Inside oven and inside fridge cleaning should be called out as add-ons when needed.

Bathrooms

Bathrooms need detail around sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, fixtures, vents, floors, and high-touch surfaces. Extra buildup should be mentioned before booking.

Bedrooms and living areas

Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, closet edges, window sills, doors, and baseboards can help the space feel ready for inspection.

Before the cleaner arrives

Remove personal items, confirm access, share parking notes, and point out any areas that need special attention so the visit can stay efficient.
